Getting mine now...

Summer is about me getting mine. Yesterday I blogged about reading. I do a lot of that year round but in the summer I really get to read for me.

Summer is about cooking. I'm not a fancy cook but I do like to play. Yesterday it was grilled cheese zucchini, inspired by one of those short videos that pop up on the face place. It turned out well but need to try again for a little more tang.

Today I have three beautiful avocados. I haven't hit on the approach yet but I think it involves bacon.

Yeah, I know two days in a row not writing or joking about sex. Perhaps the ladies can spend their time speculating on how they would reward me for cooking them an extraordinary meal.

 I kept seeing recipes for an egg baked in a halved avocado, very disappointing and a waste of good avocados.

I made something on that order last year. It was okay. Looked better than it tastes.

I'm leaning toward bacon wrapped avocado slices at this time.

 Grilled avocado halves are awesome. Then you turn them out of the skin and add pico degallo for guacamole

If my replacement grill grate shows up today I may have to try that. The old one is to gnarly for something as delicate as avocado.

I heard about a book on NPR yesterday. How to eat on $4 a day. The recipes sounded cool. It would be an interesting challenge.
